Tukur Abdurrahman, MD New Nigerian, is dead
The Managing Director, New Nigerian Newspaper Kaduna, Alhaji Tukur Abdurrahman, is dead.
Tukur died Thursday’s night at an Abuja hospital.
The Kaduna based media practitioner, who had played a role in effort for the re-strategising and strengthening of the New Nigerian Newspaper, was Vice President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) during the Guild’s Presidency of Mr. Gbenga Adefaye, who is General Manager/Editor-in-Chief of the Vanguard Newspaper in Lagos.
As MD of New Nigerian, Tukur’s predecessors include Alhaji Adamu Ciroma, former Minister of Finance, Alhaji Muhammadu Haruna, currently National Commissioner with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In the meantime, a message posted on social media platform of Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN), Friday, has expressed the condolences to the Tukur family while prayer for the repose of his soul in Aljannah.
Others who have paid tribute to the late journalism icon include the management of The DEFENDER, which noted that “Three days to its April 28 event at NICON Luxury Hotel Abuja, Alhaji Tukur Abdurrahman conversed with us on the WhatsApp informing us of a prolonged health situation that would not make him to attend.
“May Allah forgive him, admit and repose his gentle soul in Aljannah,” The DEFENDER management said in Kaduna Friday.
