*Say actors continue actions despite subsisting court order

The lawyers are saying, “No individual, no matter how highly connected, should be allowed to weaponize the Police Force, hoodlums, and state influence against innocent citizens and legitimate businesses.”
A dispute over ownership and control of a prime property located at Block 69H, Lekki Peninsula Scheme II, Lagos State, has escalated following allegations of intimidation, unlawful trespass, and abuse of security influence.
Details of this “disturbing” development are contained in a statement title, “ATTEMPT TO USE POLICE, HOODLUMS AND STATE POWER TO ILLEGALLY GRAB PRIME LEKKI PROPERTY EXPOSED”, signed by Akinlabi Apara, Esq., of BA LAW LLP, solicitors to Advance Lincon Limited, dated Thursday May 14, 2026 and circulated to the media.
The statement opened with an alarming remark announcing how, “The attention of the general public, civil society organizations, human rights defenders, the international business community, and all lovers of justice has been drawn to a dangerous and deeply disturbing conspiracy involving certain police officers, suspected land grabbers, and criminal elements currently terrorizing lawful owners of a prime property situated at Block 69H, Lekki Peninsula Scheme II, Lagos State.”
According to the statement, Advance Lincon Limited, a company incorporated in 1999, has accused certain individuals and groups of attempting to illegally seize the property despite what it describes as valid ownership documents, including a Certificate of Occupancy and registered title dating back to 2014.
In a petition reportedly submitted to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police at the Alagbon Annex, the company alleged that some police officers, suspected land grabbers, and criminal elements were involved in coordinated efforts to forcefully take possession of the property.
Named in the petition are CSP Akerele of the Lagos State Task Force and DC Ajasa attached to Zone 2 Command, alongside other unnamed officers allegedly acting outside their official responsibilities. The petition also alleged the involvement of cultists, area boys, and armed miscreants accused of intimidating workers, buyers, and representatives of the company.
The dispute is said to involve another company, Lincoln Advanced Radiology Service Limited, incorporated in 2023, which Advance Lincon Limited claims bears a suspiciously similar name intended to create confusion over ownership rights.
According to the petition, individuals allegedly linked to the dispute have continued construction activities on the property despite an existing order of the High Court of Lagos State in Suit No. LD/5991LM/2026 directing all parties to maintain the status quo pending determination of the matter.
Advance Lincon Limited described the situation as more than a civil dispute, alleging that it represents “an organized assault on the rule of law” and a growing pattern of land-grabbing activities allegedly aided by compromised security personnel.
The company called on the Inspector-General of Police, the Police Service Commission, the Lagos State Government, the Attorney-General of Lagos State, human rights organizations, and members of the public to intervene and ensure compliance with the law.
Legal representatives of the company warned that failure to address the situation could lead to a breakdown of law and order, while also raising concerns about investor confidence and property rights protection in Lagos State.
According to the lawyers in the statement, “Our Client, Advance Lincon Limited, a company duly incorporated since 1999 and holder of a valid Certificate of Occupancy and registered title since 2014, has become the target of a coordinated campaign of intimidation, harassment, threats, criminal trespass, and attempted forceful takeover by persons acting under the guise of a company known as Lincoln Advanced Radiology Service Limited, a suspicious entity incorporated only in 2023.
“Even more alarming is the involvement of certain serving police officers allegedly acting outside the colour of their lawful duties. Specifically named in the Petition submitted to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Alagbon Annex, are CSP Akerele of the Lagos State Task Force, DC Ajasa attached to Zone 2 Command, and officers allegedly acting under the influence of powerful interests within the system.
“These individuals, alongside cultists, area boys, street urchins, and armed miscreants, have repeatedly invaded the property, threatening workers, purchasers, and representatives of the lawful owners. Reports indicate that these hoodlums openly boast of political and police backing while supervising illegal construction activities on a property currently protected by a valid and subsisting Order of the High Court of Lagos State in Suit No: LD/5991LM/2026.
“Let it be stated clearly: THIS IS NOT A CIVIL DISPUTE. This is an organized assault on the rule of law.
“Despite a subsisting court order restraining all parties from tampering with the property and directing maintenance of status quo, these individuals have continued to act with reckless impunity, apparently believing they are above the law and untouchable because of their connections,” said the statement.
“The public were asked to consider some “must ask” questions as “Since when did police officers become agents of land grabbers? Since when did court orders become worthless pieces of paper? Since when did cultists and area boys become instruments for resolving property disputes in Lagos State?”
“This growing trend where uniformed officers abandon constitutional duties to openly aid land grabbers and intimidate legitimate property owners is a dangerous threat to democracy, investment, and public peace in Lagos State.
“The attempt to clone and pass-off the identity of “Advance Lincon Limited” through the suspiciously similar “Lincoln Advanced Radiology Service Limited” also raises serious questions of fraud, impersonation, and calculated deception intended to confuse the public and unlawfully hijack valuable assets belonging to another company,” it said.
The lawyers are saying, “No individual, no matter how highly connected, should be allowed to weaponize the Police Force, hoodlums, and state influence against innocent citizens and legitimate businesses.
“Nigeria cannot claim to encourage investment while allowing armed land grabbers and compromised officials to terrorize lawful property owners in broad daylight.
“The rule of law must prevail over intimidation, oppression, and criminal impunity.”
Efforts to get the Lagos State Police Command and and the Offices of the Inspectors General of Police in charge of Alagbon and Zone 2 Commands, respectively, to react to the statement were unsuccessful as at the time of filing this report.
However, a source connected with the case confined in The DEFENDER that the AIG Alagbon declined to act on the complaint directing them to the AIG Zone 2 saying only him and Lagos State Commissioner of Police can talk about it.
