Zamfara APC stakeholders endorse Tinubu, Lawal for 2027 elections

Stakeholders unanimously reaffirmed their “total, unified, and unconditional loyalty” to the APC leadership in Zamfara under Governor Lawal, while pledging to strengthen internal cohesion, discipline, and party structures.
A high-level stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has ended with a unanimous endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal for the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Government House Gusau, brought together party leaders, elected officials, elders, youth and women representatives, as well as stakeholders from all 14 local government areas of the state.
Details of the deliberations were contained in a communiqué read by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammad Matawalle.
According to Matawalle, the meeting served as a strategic platform for discussions on party unity, governance alignment, security challenges, and preparations for upcoming party activities, including the 2027 general elections.
He noted that stakeholders unanimously reaffirmed their “total, unified, and unconditional loyalty” to the APC leadership in Zamfara under Governor Lawal, while pledging to strengthen internal cohesion, discipline, and party structures.
A major outcome of the meeting was the formal endorsement of both President Tinubu and Governor Lawal.
Stakeholders expressed strong support for President Tinubu’s leadership and reform agenda, declaring their commitment to his re-election bid in 2027. They described the endorsement as a demonstration of unity, confidence, and strategic alignment within the party.
Similarly, Governor Lawal received unanimous backing for a second term, with stakeholders citing his ongoing reforms, efforts in security stabilization, economic recovery, and commitment to sustainable development.
The communiqué stated that the dual endorsement reflects a collective resolve to consolidate existing gains and ensure continuity in governance at both national and state levels.
The meeting also resolved to ensure that forthcoming party congresses and primary elections are conducted in a peaceful, transparent, and inclusive manner, in strict adherence to party guidelines.
Stakeholders pledged to intensify grassroots mobilization across wards and local governments to strengthen the APC’s electoral base ahead of future contests.
Participants reiterated their alignment with the Federal Government’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” emphasizing the need to synchronize state policies with national priorities focused on economic revitalization, social inclusion, and improved security.
On security, the meeting acknowledged ongoing challenges such as banditry and resolved to fully support security agencies, enhance community collaboration, and promote intelligence sharing as part of efforts to restore peace in Zamfara State.
Stakeholders stressed the importance of unity within the party, urging members to avoid divisive tendencies. They also called for stronger conflict resolution mechanisms and continuous engagement to maintain harmony and discipline.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to unity, strategic coordination, and party growth. Stakeholders affirmed that a united APC remains a viable platform for delivering democratic dividends and sustainable development in Zamfara State and Nigeria as a whole.
