Industry chief hails Defender on YouTube TV outing

In a congratulatory message addressed to the CEO/Editor-in-Chief of the company, Prince Bashir Adefaka, the Lagos-born finance expert commended the management and editorial team of The DEFENDER for embracing digital broadcast in response to changing media dynamics.
The former Managing Director and Chief Executive of the defunct First African Trust Bank, Mr. Yomi Tokosi, has congratulated Defender Media Limited, publishers of The DEFENDER Newspaper Nigeria, on the launch of its YouTube television channel, The DEFENDER Nigeria TV.

The new channel debuted unannounced on Saturday, January 10, 2026, marking what Mr. Tokosi described as a significant milestone in the organisation’s steady evolution into a full-fledged media conglomerate.
Mr. Tokosi, a United States–trained business administrator with bias for financing with over 20 years experience to credit spanning banking, structured finance, corporate restructuring and manufacturing, praised the initiative as a bold step that elevates journalism and expands public engagement. He is currently the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Riggs Ventures West Africa Plc.
