TINUBU: PDP governors’ defection drive taken to Zamfara, as Matawalle announces readiness to welcome Gov Lawal to APC

By IBRAHIM KANOMA, Gusau
In what begins to look like a “mandate” for every appointee of this government to work on his state governor – where he is in the opposition – to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the unopposed President Boa Tinubu’s re-election come 20257, the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has stated that the APC Zamfara is always ready to welcome Governor Dauda Lawal to its fold.

This is, according to him, because the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is no longer a viable option.
The Minister disclosed this while addressing thousands of APC supporters who paid him Sallah homage in his country home of Maradun town in Maradun Local Government of the state.
The former Zamfara State Governor said “the doors of APC ware always open for all those willing to join particularly Governor Dauda Lawal and his supporters, who have no choice but to join APC in order to save their political journey. This is because his party, the PDP, has collapsed.
He charged Governor Dauda Lawal to always focus on good governance rather than always lamenting and blaming his predecessors on frivolous issues.
He said many governors and their supporters are joining APC “because it is the only viable option due to the performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in all areas of human capital development.
Matawalle said the president had performed extremely well especially in roads construction, particularly in the North West zone of the country.
He added that this is in addition to total provisions of infrastructure across the nation for the benefits of the common man.
Matawalle said the president was determined to crush any form of criminality particularly banditry in any part of the country as most of the requirements of the security agencies are now met in the areas of modern warfare equipment and welfare of personnel.
He called on the people to give the president massive support and encouragement for him to continue the work he has started in building a new Nigeria that everyone can be proud
