“To every child out there, I love you, I cherish your growth and I am always open to celebrate you not just today but everyday as you are the treasure and the window to the future,” said Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
The Lagos State 2027 hopeful, Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has joined the numerous Nigerian children as they celebrated this year’s Children’s Day across the country today, describing them as “the treasure and window to the future”.

The architect, humble philanthropist and unwavering lover of people, who was 2023 Labour Party governorship candidate in the state, spoke through a statement titled, “CHILDREN: THE TREASURE AND THE WINDOW TO THE FUTURE”, personally signed and posted on his verified Facebook timeline called, “Igba Otun De Si Eko”, on Tuesday May 27, 2025.
In Nigeria, May 27 every year is set aside for the celebration of children known for being the future leaders of the country. That celebration is tagged the “Children’s Day”.
Participating in the celebration, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, who is the Obalefun of Lagos, said, “Childhood is a time filled with wonder, curiosity, and endless possibilities. It’s a phase of life that deserves to be celebrated, not only for the joy it brings but for the foundation it lays for the future.
“Today, I Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour dedicated this day to the youngest members of our society, and it’s a wonderful occasion to reflect on the importance of childhood, education, and the future.”
According to him, Walt Streightiff said and I quote, “There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million.”
Appreciating the scholarly statement of Streightiff, Rhodes-Vivour, an architect, said, “These words remind us that children are not just the future—they are the promise of what we can achieve when we invest in them today. That is, we all need to take action towards a brighter, more inclusive future.
“The investment in the future begins now as they learn the value of persistence, self-belief, and the joy that comes from doing something you truly love. Also, investing in celebrating the idea of inspiring creativity and growth. Remember, Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression.
“To every child out there, I love you, I cherish your growth and I am always open to celebrate you not just today but everyday as you are the treasure and the window to the future,” said Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
