The question about why Nigeria pays for Buhari’s health

By Baridam Ben

Buhari’s sickness is a private thing protected by the constitution, any amount he spends on his health is strictly a private affair. But if the country were to spend some money because of his health, let truth be told, nothing is too much for a man who has given so much.

My reply to some young people who were asking me yesterday what Buhari has done to deserve whatever Nigeria was paying for his health:
I’m surprised at the type of question people are asking here…. Buhari as a young soldier, about 26 years old, probably younger than all of you commenting here, fought to keep this country together.

Description of image

He’s a hero, the nation will forever be indebted to him and his colleagues who fought to keep Nigeria the largest black nation on earth.

Buhari as minister of petroleum built two of the three refineries we’re using today.

Buhari as head of state led the first war against corruption in this country and gave us hope that corruption can be defeated.

Buhari as PTF chairman built some of the classrooms some of you sat in to acquire the education with which you’re commenting on this post today.

Millions of Nigerians have benefited from the hospitals he built and the water projects he provided.

Buhari as president today has saved the country billions of Naira…

Is it money recovered from treasury looters or the one they voluntarily returned? Is it the one he recovered from abroad or the ones foreign countries donated to this country because they trust him to use it better? Is it the one he saved from ghost workers or the ones he saved by removing subsidy, or the implementation of TSA? Is it the ones he got by sanitising NNPC or the ones he got by cleaning up customs?

Buhari has given his entire lifetime to serving his country. Why are human beings so wicked? What is (in) medical bills that Buhari cannot pay himself?

Buhari is a man who donated 90 percent of his pension to the treasury and is currently collecting 50 percent of his salary as president.
