2027: Amidst Tinubu’s growing dictatorial govt, your supporters want your political direction, Kwankwaso told

Journalist and media proprietor, Jaafar Jaafar, has urged the leader of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to be decisive as to what direction to give his followers amidst current alignments and realignments going on among opposition politicians in teaming up to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and capture all states governed by his party during the 2027 general elections.

Citing a statement of former United States President George Bush, Jaafar, who rephrased the statement, told Kwankwaso that, “To rephrase Bush’s statement, every politician, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with the oppressed, or you are with the oppressors.”

In a comment he posted on his X account on Friday, the Founder/Editor-in-Chief of Daily Nigerian online newspaper said the former Governor of Kano State needed to take a stand before his staunch supporters begin to shift allegiance to another opposition leader who are ready to take a stand against the dictatorial government in office ahead of next election.

In the statement wherein he, however, did not mention the name of Tinubu, Jaafar Jaafar said:

“In the wake of 9/11 attack, President Bush made an important statement, saying “Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.”

“At the time mass opposition against the ruling APC is gaining momentum, with masses yearning for an alternative platform and the opposition leaders regrouping, the leader of the NNPP Rabiu Kwankwaso has chosen to be a political hermit, perhaps observing an itikaf.

“At this time, even Kwankwaso’s staunch supporters are at crossroads, and may likely shift allegiance to other opposition leaders who are courageous enough to openly challenge the tyranny of the ruling party and speak for the masses.

“In the midst of hardship, inflation and rising cost of living in the country, the ruling party is waxing dictatorial, debasing the tenets of liberal democracy and staging a coup against democratically-elected officials.

“To rephrase Bush’s statement, every politician, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with the oppressed, or you are with the oppressors,” he said.
