*Says PDP now working with fear of God to return to power

Mr. Secondus however did not talk about how he intends to lead members of his party to face Nigerian electorates with realities steering them in the faces as a result of corruption and impunities allegedly perpetrated by them during the last six months of their 16 years in power, which many Nigerians have continued to say will be in their memories whether the courts choose to indict them or not.

Just realizing that the Olusegun Obasanjo’s Third Force is not out to support its desperate moves to return power in 2019, leadership of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which had celebrated the former President for coming out with a Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM) with main intention to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 presidential elections, has now made a u-turn.

The PDP, on Monday, said it was working with the fear of God to return to power, insisting that the Coalition for Nigeria Movement was not a threat to the party.

This was contained in a comment by National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, who spoke while fielding questions from newsmen at Asaba Airport, on his arrival in Delta State to hold meetings with PDP governors and stakeholders in Asaba, on Monday.

Secondus, who was flanked by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, his deputy, Mr Kingsley Otuaro, Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, Chief Ighoyota Amori and other top government functionaries and party faithful, said the party had begun the process of reclaiming power at the centre in 2019.

He said the PDP would mobilize its people and get them ready for the 2019 general election.

On what the party was doing to check imposition of candidates, he said: “We have vowed not to repeat the old order and we have reassured our leadership and our people that we will devolve power down to the states so that they can take responsibilities and make sure that whatever names that had been submitted will not be changed.”
