’20 ghost medical doctors’ discovered in Zamfara – Head of Service

The Zamfara State Head of Service, Ahmad Liman who is also the Chairman Steering Committee on Verification and Implementation of the New Minimum Wage, has disclosed that his committee has discovered several ghost workers in the state’s payroll including 20 medical doctors in one hospital.

He made the disclosure while briefing journalists on the preparation for Zamfara government’s plan to implement the N70,000 minimum wage.

He said the government had set up committees to ascertain and verify the actual number of civil servants in the state and make recommendations.

Ahmad Liman reiterated the determination of the state government to fully implement the minimum wage as soon as the committee submits its report  month end.

He further said the committee was working tirelessly to ensure thorough sanitization of the integrated pay roll of the state for proper implementation of the new wage.

He appealled to workers to exercise patience as, according to him, government was doing everything humanly possible to ensure that civil servants in the state were authenticated on the nominal roll.
