By IBRAHIM KANOMA, Gusau
The government of Zamfara State has said that, for telecommunication networks to be fully restored, albeit the directives of the state governor to the effect, there are processes that are required to be met.
Making this known in a statement dated Wednesday 1 December 2021 was the state Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Ibrahim Magaji Dosara.
He assured members of the public that the directives by the Governor, Hon. Mohammed Bello Matawallen Maradun, to restor all network services was on course but pending the completion of the processes.
Explaining the processes, Alhaji Dosara said they include the legal procedure of drafting and signing the Executive Order permitting the restoration, the survey of the current security situation in each of the 14 Local Government Areas to ascertain the type of arrangements to be put in place after the restoration of the networks.
He continued that processes also include the request for the restoration from the Federal Minister of Communications and Digital Economy and the National Commissions Commission (NCC), which, according to him, must be with the security reports and other bureaucratic procedures involved.
“The government therefore pleads with the good and law abiding people of the state to exercise more patience, as all the processes are on course,” said the Commissioner, who added that the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice had given the assurance that the Executive Order was almost ready and would soon be forwarded to the governor for signing.
“In the same vein, security situation reports from various communities and local government areas are being compiled for onward submission to the Honourable minister of Communications and digital economy along with our letter of request,” he said.
