Zamfara lady who melt nylon on step-daughter’s body faces prosecution

The lady, who was reportedly accused of agravating assault to her step daughter in Tsafe Local Government of Zamfara State by melting nylon on her body, will soon face the wrath of the law.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Development, Dr Nafisa Muhammad, when she visited the victim.

Details of the update are contained in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Gusau by Suleiman isah, Information Officer of the Ministry of Women Children and Social Development, and copy of which was handed to Our Correspondent in Gusau, the state capital on Wednesday.

“We received a report that one Aisha Mustapha of Tsafe town has brutality assaulted her 12 year old step daughter by melting nylon on her body and forcing her to drink her urine” the Commissioner further disclosed.

“The government of Zamfara state will not accept this kind of abuse, and soon, the accused woman will be taken to court to reap what she sow” Dr. Nafisa assured.

“The state government, in collaboration with some non governmental organisations in the state will follow this case to ensure that the accused woman is punished if found guilty”.

Earlier speaking, mother of the victim, Malama Maryam Muhammad has appealed to the state government and concerned non governmental organisations operating in the state to leave no stone unturned in discovering all the atrocities allegedly committed by the accused person.

She thanked the Commissioner and some officials of non governmental organisations who have shown concern on what happened to her daughter.
