Zamfara Governor, Matawalle, jets out to USA for Africa Investment Summit

Governor of Zamfara State, North West Nigeria, Dr. Bello Mohammed, has left the country to attend the Africa Investment Summit in the United States of America.

According to a statement by Director-General Press Affairs to the Governor, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, sent to The DEFENDER, the governor left the shores of Nigeria Saturday 21th September, 2019 to  attend the Summit which will be hold on the sideline of this year’s United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York, United States of America.

The Matawallen Maradun left the country at exactly 8:21am through Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport,  Abuja aboard the British Airways, the statement said.

Gusau said: “This year’s United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting will hold an Africa Investment Summit where Zamfara State Governor will present a paper with the theme “The Investment Climate and Market of Zamfara State: Opportunities for International Investment Partnerships “.where he will introduce Zamfara State to the world investors on the large deposits of mineral resources and the need for economic partnership with the State.

“During the investment Summit the Governor will highlight the Zamfara State major growth pole in Sub Sahara Africa and its capacity to manage the increased capacity flows across the State’s major sectors of the economy.

“The Governor is expected to hold a two days meeting with Multilateral Financial Institutions in United Kingdom between 22nd to 23 September, 2019 to fashion out how to invest in the State sectors of Infrastructure, Education, Agriculture, Healthcare, Industrilization, Empowerment and Innovation.

“The Zamfara State delegation to 74th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) that will be part of the Africa Business Summit has the Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, Chief of Staff Government House, Col Bala Mande (Rtd), Special Adviser to the Governor on Solid Minerals Development, Dr Nura Isah Gusau and Senator Lawali Hassan Daniya.

“The Governor is expected to return home on the 28th September, 2019,” the statement said.
