Zamfara Gov reiterates commitment to promoting Qur’anic recitation, memorisation

Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Matawalle, has expressed his admistration’s commitment to the promotion of invaluable teaching of the glorious Qur’an and wellbeing of the Qur’anic reciters and memorisers, for betterment of the society.

He made this announcement during the closing ceremony of 24th annual Zamfara State Qur’anic Recitation Competition.

Governor Bello Mutawalle explained that the Qur’an, as book of the Lord of creation, guides mankind to attain the best of character.

He further said “it is vital that we must learn proper recitation of the text of the glorious Qur’an and always strive hard to abide by its wide range teachings in all aspect of life.”

Governor Matawalle inform the partcipants and stakeholders of the competion that “the position of the Qur’anic reciters and memorisers has always been an exalted one since the beginning of its revelation around 609 AD, hence the need to give prioty attention to promoting the message contained in it as the remedy to our contemporary challenges.”

He announced the donation of two hajj seat each to the two overall winners of the competion including other prizes.

To mankind, particularly in the Muslim World, memorisation and recitation of the Qur’an are duties considered to be highly rewardable by the Lord of the world, as it is by committing the last message of Allah to the memory that it has been best protected.
