Just before the latest video clip indicating continued embarrassment of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, by some North East electorates went viral on Thursday, Vice presidential candidate of the party, Dr. Peter Obi, had on Tuesday, in Awka, Anambra State, told the people of the state that “only those who do not wish Nigeria well are still supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).”

Obi spoke during a roadshow to create awareness among the people of the state he ruled until some five years ago concerning the February 16 election.

A crowd made up of traders, students, artisans and people from  all walks of life turned up for the road show organised by the PDP in all the parts of the state to create awareness among the people of the state concerning the February 16 election.

During the road show, Obi intermittently spoke to the surging crowd, inviting them to vote for the PDP in the forth coming election in order to empower Alhaji Abubakar Atiku to make Nigeria to start working again.

Obi pointed at Atiku’s experience, past records, expertise in wealth-creation and empowerment as among the many reasons  Nigeria needs him now.

But on Thursday, a video clip of Atiku’s campaign in a North Eastern state, revealed details of what a particular television station loyal to PDP had been accused of refusing to show.

In the video, Atiku was clearly told “you are a liar” when he screamed “PeeeDeeePeee!” And when he screamed “Nigeriaaaa!” a section of the crowd replied: “Sai Buhari!”

“It was that bad an outing for a leading opposition and its presidential candidate who, despite the clear sign that Nigerians already signal their rejection of them, still threaten to collapse the firmament of the country on everybody as if, when the heavens fall, they will not be affected. This desperation means no PDP candidate deserves to be given a single vote in this coming election in this country”, a respondent who refused to be named said.

It will be recalled PDP’s national chairman, Uche Secondus, reacted to a recent video show a PDP’s campaign stage collapse in injuriously embarrassing manner and said the stage collapsed because the number of APC defectors were overwhelming.

Some Nigerians who spoke to us Thursday afternoon, putting all of these together, are now asking if the United States of America, United Kingdom and European Union Observer Mission, who have been accused of conspiring with the PDP and Atiku to discredit and reject the outcome of the February 16 presidential election outcome, are actually sincere about their claims.

One of them asked, “If US, UK, EU are saying that it is only the actions being taken at cleaning the country of corruption, stopping sponsors of electoral violence so the coming elections can peaceful and credible they see without seeing the generally seen lies of the opposition, then, they should know that Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna state has said nothing,” he said.
