The Social and Digital Media Aide to Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has given a big bang that is food for thought.

She said no one in his right senses can expect to have gender equality in situation where rights are not fairly distributed among male and female folks.

She spoke through a post on her Facebook social media handle, while celebrating the International Women’s Day (IWD) Monday 8 March 2021, in which she joined other women in the world to amplify the hashtag #ChooseToChallenge.

“On this International Women’s Day, I urge Nigerian women to rethink the way we raise children.

“Our children grow up to be the men and women we shaped them into.

“We cannot continue to raise daughters as inferior to sons and expect equality later in life.

“God bless us all, Everyone,” Lauretta Onochie said.

President Muhammadu Buhari had taken a time out to celebrate some women of substance in the country in his chosen way to mark this year’s edition of International Women’s Day.  Lauretta Onochie was one of them.

March 8 of every year is observed globally as International Women’s Day. Theme for 2021 is “#ChooseToChallenge”.
