The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has declared that the agency is still looking for the owner (s) of the N49 million cash intercepted at Kaduna International Airport.

The anti-graft agency disclosed this via its official twitter handle while responding to a twitter user.

Recall that operatives of EFCC, Kaduna zonal office, recently intercepted N49 million cash in five large black 150kg sacks following a tip off.

A statement from EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren said during a routine baggage screening, five sacks were sighted unattended and without tags containing fresh bulk items suspected to be money.

He said upon examination, the bags were found to contain N200 denomination in 20 bundles totaling N40 m and N50 denomination in 180 bundles totaling N9m with seal purportedly emanating from the Nigeria Security and Minting Plc (NSPM).

He said investigation into the matter is ongoing.
