In its reaction to the launch of #BringBackOurBoys movement shamed under minutes by rescue of the KANKARA school boys by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Army and Governor of Katsina State,Alhaji Amunu Bello Masari, a social media media, Buharist Supporters, made a post, which I shared in my wall on Facebook as follows:
“They Have Printed 10 Million T-Shirt With #BringBackOurBoys Inscription on it, but God Disappointed them – Buharist Supporters”.
The next I saw was a senior colleague, who had been in government before now, sent a comment saying, “Bashir this your blind support for Buhari will ruin you one day. Mark my word.”
Isn’t that too big and uncharitable a word? I will cover him bynnot mentioning his name here. But I used the comment to show that there should be limit in the kind of hate you can have for President of your country or any leader at all.
My reply to him:
“Mr. Xxxxx: Is it not better for me to be ruined, if your prophetic prediction means anything, by supporting the performing though so much hated President of my country than to be ruined being on the side of those who sabotage his good efforts, though they failingly do so? And could you kindly tell us, because if you don’t support Buhari like my blindly doing, you should tell us who you support. What you can’t – for integrity sake – claim is to say you are neutral. “This Buhari you hate now, you supported me when I backed his support for your Obaseki. He gave you free, fair and credible election to have the governor you wanted. What went wrong? He gave you Modular Refinery almost ready. What else do you want? Economy he built. You have no moral right to blame him for dollar rise because you cannot eat your case and have it. You don’t support his Made-in-Nigeria policy and you think as consumer people your country’s Naira bring dollar to its kneels?
“It is however sad that you see a President advised by Mr. Femi Adesina, Garba Shehu, both your former Presidents, Nigeria Guild of Editors, being supported by me as going to ruin me. Not even the Adaoma, Lauretta Onochie, another enigmatic personality in the administration you can belittle. Yet you were once Special Assistant to a Minister last administration and we supported you this “blindly” too. What is the missing link?”
Sadness over KANKARA rescue?
As saner Nigerians rejoice over Buhari’s Army and Governor Masari’s rescuse under one week of 344 kidnapped KANKARA students, those who had launched #BringBackOurBoys to escalate the problem but shamed have not been happy they were rescued. We have prayed that Allah will never let anyone that has hand in problem of Nigeria know peace. Little do people know this is one of prayer answered.
One of them, Xxxxx, instead of congratulating the Kankara parents, retorted: “You guys should rescue Leah Sharibu Jare.”
And I replied him:
Leah Sharibu, my heart is with you even though your marriage with terrorist is not your wish. Allah will give you freedom one day and your story will be great.
As for you, Xxxxx, Your fakeness is now beyond pardon. You that knew how Leah Sharibu got stuck in the den of terrorists should be the ones to rescue her. Now you see the reward of evil to one’s national security how it easily bounces back. We warned you and your CAN. Didn’t we? Go and live with that. Congratulations!
