A new video watched Sunday by The DEFENDER has shown that the Nigerian troops have captured the house of ISWAP leader in Sambisa Forest, Borno State, North East Nigeria.

This has been described by many as a big win for the Nigerian military.

Moving forward, the Nigerian troops of 202 Battalion deployed under 21 Special Armoured Brigade Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI have eliminated 13 insurgents affiliate to the Jama’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihad faction of Boko Haram during clearance operations in the North East state of Borno State.

The 21 Special Armoured Brigade, Bama is under the supervision of Brig. Gen Waidi Shayibu, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division of the Nigerian Army.

It was gathered that the Battalion, led by one Lt Col. Isaac indiorhwer, in collaboration with Civilian Joint Task Force team, stormed the hideouts of the terrorists at Mallum Masari and Gabchari, Mantari, Kanari, Markas, Garin and Baban Baba villages in Bama Local Government Area on April 7, 2022, and eliminated them during a shootouts.

The DEFENDER reports that many more achieves have been made by the troops of the Nigerian Army, especially in the aftermath of the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train night of Monday March 28, 2022 in Kaduna.

We had done an assessment report of the train attack, pointing out appreciation of the security forces, particularly the Nigerian Army and the police mobile force for saving the nation from a major calamity through their timely response.

This online newspaper reported that the Kaduna train attackers laid in wait with planted explosives that derailed the train, thereby demobilising and making it possible for them to carryout the shootings that killed seven persons with one dead later at the hospital from injuries sustained, and some whisked away, who have now been found alive.

We also reported that among the victims kidnapped from the scene of crime was the Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture (BoA), Alhaji Alwan Ali-Hassan, who has also been released alive after showing him in a video that went viral with the terrorists speaking about their demands from authorities of state.

The Kaduna incident could have been worse but the rapid response by troops of One Division NIgerian Army led by their General Officer Commanding, GOC, reduced the impact to a barest minimum, as the terrorists in their large number were believed to mean carrying out a total attack on the 1,000-seat train confirmed to have 970 passengers on board during the attack.

Among those that spoke to us then said although one life matters but to have eight casualties as against 70 still makes the Army deserving of appreciation so that by that, they will be encouraged to do more.

That report of appreciation, acknowledged by the Military High Command, would go a long way in boosting the morale of troops and then lead to quicker effort to winning the war against insecurity, not only in the North, bit also in the South especially South East and South South.

The capturing of ISWAP leader’s house in Sambisa Forest and killing of several number of Boko Haram and bandit terrorists across North East, North West and North Central as well dealing serious a blow on IPOB terrorists in the South East between then and now have been described as big win for the Nigerian military.

However, Nigerians are charged to encourage the forces by appreciating and not condemning them “because any war against terrorism is not like eating bread and butter”.
