“President Zelensky confirmed that multiple cities across the nation were targeted by Russian strikes”

Waves of Russian missiles slammed into Kyiv, the capital city, and other Ukrainian cities on Monday in one of the broadest and most intense bombadments of the war, after Moscow blamed Ukraine for what it called terrorist attacks that seriously damaged the all-important bridge connecting Russia with the new country it emancipated in 2014.

The multiple missile strikes targeted Ukrainian cities all across the country, according to local officials and media, which attributed the attacks to Russia. The apparently commiserating punishment of Ukraine for the attacks was coming two days after a truck bomb damaged the strategic Crimean bridge.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted the attacks on the capital, Kyiv and the cities of Dnepr and Zaporozhye, before urging people to take shelter. Local officials in Lviv, Kharkov, and Odessa also reported that their cities came under fire.

In Kyiv, damage from the strikes was reported near the headquarters of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), which is located in the government area of the capital. City officials halted operations of the metro system, and the stations are now being used as shelters for civilians.

The head of Lviv Region, Maksim Kozitsky, reported that elements of the western province’s energy infrastructure came under attack.

Boris Filatov, the mayor of Dnepr, a major city in central Ukraine, confirmed the strikes and said he could only feel “hatred and the wish to fight,” while urging residents to take shelter.

Some of the people that have commented on the latest development are saying no Ukrainian person is innocent this time around as they all celebrated what they believed to be misfortune of Russia when they dropped all manner of unguarded utterances in posts on social media following the terrorist attacks on strategic Crimean Bridge on Saturday.

“The attacks on Crimean Bridge had all that can be linked with act of terrorism and it will be surprising that a country like Ukraine would take part in it. And if this is how United States believes it can achieve the justification of its propaganda to convince the world that Putin is losing the war, I think a huge joke has been established here,” one of them said.
