Ukraine carried out a prisoner exchange with Russia on Saturday, the third such swap since the start of the war, and 12 soldiers are coming home, Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said in an online post, according to A News Turkey.

Vereshchuk also said that as part of the deal, 14 civilians were returning to Ukraine. She did not say how many Russians had been released.

It will be recalled that Russia started its special military operations in Ukraine on March 24, 2022 for reason it described as Kyiv’s unwillingness to stop genocide of Russians dominated eastern part of the country, to stop Ukraine from joining NATO and to fight the threat to its national security and interest possible from United States weapons building up on border between Russia and Ukraine.
