A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, Chief Tajudeen Olusi, has said that the meeting held with a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos last week was not at the behest of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.

The meeting which also had Justice Ishola Olorunnimbe (rtd) in attendance was to initiate moves to being both George and Tinubu to a peace table. NPO Reports that the duo had remained sworn political rivals for years.

But Olusi, who is the Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC),refuted reports that the President-elect asked his loyalists to meet with George. GAC is the leading political platform in the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Olusi, who served as a member of the House of Representatives in the Second Republic said the peace meeting was his own idea.

Olusi said “It was a peace meeting organized to reconcile two individuals. You want to know whether the meeting was called at the instance of Mr A or B. It could be at the instance of anybody”.

“However, the paramount thing is to reconcile people and make peace in the interest of ourselves, our people and the entire nation”.

“The idea of brokering peace is entirely ours. I can boldly say that the initiative was entirely mine. It was not at the instance of either Asiwaju Bola Tinubu or Chief Olabode George. Also, it was not at the instance of any political party”.

“Those who were involved in the peace deal are prominent citizens of my state who are interested in the advancement of Lagos State and Nigeria. That answers your question”. NPO
