Tinubu lands in Iperu Airport, Ogun, on condolence visit to Ijebu Ode

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has landed at the Gateway International Airport, Iperu in Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Tinubu is in Ogun State to pay condolence visit to the late Awujale family, Awujale-in-Council, government of the state and people of Ijebu Land on the passing of Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebu Land, who died shortly after the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari in London clinic, on Sunday July 13, 2025.

At the Iperu Airport to receive the president, who was accompanied by his wife Oluremi Tinubu, were the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele, her husband and Alhaji Bode Oyedele.

In a statement posted on her verified Facebook page, Deputy Governor Salako-Oyedele said, “My husband, Alhaji Bode Oyedele and I joined HE Prince Dapo Abiodun CON to receive the President, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and the First Lady, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON at the Gateway International Airport, Iperu.

“Mr. President and the First Lady were in Ogun State to pay condolences to the family of the late Awujale of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona GCON and to attend fidau prayers in his honour.

“May Almighty Allah accept Kabiyesi’s return and grant him Aljannah Firdaus. Amin,” she said.
