For eight years, all we were hearing from leaders of the Niger Delta Region, and the South-East is, how much Buhari hated them..
No one was admitting to the Fact that, this most vilified leader of impeccable honesty that NIGERIA currently have, kept to the spirit and letters of the Constitution.
The Niger Delta Region has an entitlement to 13 (thirteen) percent of Oil Revenues accruing to the nation’s Oil-producing States.
This Agreement was reached under the Obasanjo Government, who never did try to fulfill the same.
Throughout the Corruption-riddled reign of the PDP, this money was not disbursed to the Region, as required by Law.
President Buhari is the one that started paying to these States.
The Governors in the region collected and still are collecting the funds.
However, they secretly collect the funds and misuse same.
That which they did not steal, they mismanaged.
Politics of hate is the modus operandi of these Governors and Leaders of the region.
They engage in black propaganda against the same Buhari’s Government.
Their gullible citizens too imbibed the mantra of hatred, because their leaders interject tribal /regional hatred, and religious bigotry into the narratives.
Meanwhile, a small State as Bayelsa, receiving such huge amount of monies year-in-year-out, is a byword for poverty and chronic underdevelopment.
Governor Nyesome Wike blew the lid over the hypocrisy and criminal proclivities of the leaders of the South-South over the weekend.
There is the silence of the graveyard from both the leaders and the people of the Niger Delta Region since Governor Wike spoke.
In Summary, let these Leaders explain to Nigerians and the World which “Snake”, this time around, ate all the Billions that the Buhari Government disbursed to them.
The same truth will be exposed of the Governors and Leaders of the South-East : These ones collects Ecological Funds and pockets them, as well.
Callous leaders that they are, when erosion destroys their region, they are the first to blame Buhari.
The South-East was made the hotbed of hatred towards Buhari and others, because of these leaders.
The common citizens too are no better.
Since Governor Wike’s exposé the same citizens whose commonwealth had been stolen, and their futures mortgaged are as quiet as dodo !
A people deserve the leaders they get !!!
