The new Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Mr. Kenneth Ebrimson, has warned that there will be no safer haven for criminals in Ogun, adding that any such person who decides to test the will power of the command under him will meet his Waterloo.

He said this as operatives of the Ogun State Police Command, on Wednesday 4th December 2019, arrested 10 suspected members of a land grabbing syndicate, who unleashed terror on innocent residents of  Ewujomo Village via Igbosoro in Ogijo area of the state.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement he sent to The DEFENDER.

“The suspects; Ismaila Lawal, Tope Oniyide, Sodiq Lawal, Ahmed Olaringbe, Gafar Kafo, Ismaila Haruna, Okanlawon Olabinjo, Kamoru Arulogun, Suleman Oresesun and Kazeem Oresesun were all arrested following a distress call received by the police in Ogijo Division that the hoodlums who came with motorcycles armed with dangerous weapons have invaded the village as a result of which the villagers were running helter skelter.

“On receiving the information, the DPO Ogijo Division CSP Suleman Baba Muhammed mobilized his men and moved to the scene.

“On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums whose actions has thrown the community into pandemonium started shooting sporadically but were overpowered by the police and they succeeded in apprehending ten members of the syndicate while some escaped with various degrees of injuries.

“Recovered from the arrested suspects are, two live cartridges, two expended cartridges, one expended Brownie pistol ammunition, charm and three bajaj motorcycles,” DSP Oyeyemi said.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.

The CP, who praised the gallantry display of his officers and men, warned that anybody with criminal intent will not find a safe haven in Ogun State and that any criminal who decides to test the will power of the command will meet his Waterloo.

The CP therefore assured the good people of Ogun State of adequate security moreso that Yuletide season is around the corner.
