Sultan of Sokoto congratulates Etsu Nupe at 74

His Eminence acknowledged the Etsu Nupe’s invaluable contributions to the promotion of peaceful coexistence, unity and mutual understanding among Nigerians, noting that his leadership and counsel have continued to strengthen the institution of traditional leadership in the country.
The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, has felicitated with the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, CFR, on the occasion of his 74th birthday anniversary.
In a congratulatory message, signed by Prince Bashir Adefaka for the Media Team of the Sultan of Sokoto and dated Saturday, September 12, 2026, the Sultan described the Etsu Nupe as a highly respected traditional ruler and elder statesman whose 24 years on the throne have been marked by exemplary leadership, wisdom, humility and unwavering commitment to the peace, unity and development of his people and the nation.
His Eminence acknowledged the Etsu Nupe’s invaluable contributions to the promotion of peaceful coexistence, unity and mutual understanding among Nigerians, noting that his leadership and counsel have continued to strengthen the institution of traditional leadership in the country.
The Sultan prayed to Allah Almighty to continue to grant the Etsu Nupe good health, wisdom and strength, while blessing him with many more years of purposeful service to his people, Niger State and Nigeria.
His Eminence also prayed that Allah Almighty continue to preserve the Etsu Nupe’s reign and grant him enduring peace, fulfilment and abundant blessings.
