SULTAN OF SOKOTO AT 70: Atayero Celebrates World-Class, Multifaceted Leader

“Happy 70th Birthday, Your Eminence, and in advance, congratulations on your forthcoming 20th Coronation Anniversary as the 20th Sultan of Sokoto,” the Atayero said.
His Royal Highness (Dr.) Amb. Olusegun Aderemi, JP, MCArb, FCAI, the Atayero of Aramoko Kingdom and President, Nigeria Region, Occupation Safety and Health Association UK (OSHA), has congratulated the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, on his 70th birthday.
In a congratulatory message issued to mark the milestone on Monday, August 24, 2026, Aderemi described the Sultan as a “world-class, multifaceted leader” whose contributions to Nigeria’s unity, peace and development have earned widespread recognition.
He commended the Sultan’s commitment over the years to promoting peace, national unity and mutual understanding among Nigerians across ethnic, religious and cultural divides.
Aderemi noted that the Sultan’s 70th birthday is particularly significant as it comes exactly 40 days before his 20th coronation anniversary as the 20th Sultan of Sokoto.
According to him, the Sultan’s years of service have been characterised by wisdom, leadership and a sustained commitment to the stability and progress of Nigeria.
“On the occasion of your 70th birthday, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and warmest felicitations to Your Eminence, a distinguished traditional ruler, statesman and exemplary leader whose contributions to the unity, peace and progress of Nigeria continue to receive wide recognition,” he said.
Aderemi expressed appreciation to Almighty God for the Sultan’s life of service and prayed for his continued good health, wisdom, strength and longevity.
He also extended advance congratulations to the Sultan on his forthcoming 20th coronation anniversary, praying that God would continue to preserve him and grant him many more years of impactful service to humanity and Nigeria.
