The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), under the leadership of its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has enjoined the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria to look out for the crescent of Jumadal-Thani 1445AH after sunset on Wednesday, 29th Jumadal-Ula 1445AH that is 13th December 2023.

Deputy Secretary General of the NSCIA, Professor Salisu Shehu, madevthis known in a statement wuth reference number: NSCIA/HQ/PRS/056 and dated 27th Jumadal-Ula 1445 AH equivalent to 11th December 2023.

“Scientifically, the expected time for the conjunction of the moon on Wednesday, 13th December 2023 is 12:32 a.m. Nigerian time.

“It is important to note that the moon appears and can be sighted usually long (even bearing other environmental factors) after the conjunction had taken place. Ma-as-salaam!” the statement said.
