…with 50 articles to prevent online abuses

Mr. Rotimi Onadipe, CEO of Onadipe Technologies, has released this year’s edition of Internet Safety Magazine, which helps in tackling internet abuse among youths and the society at large.

In this edition, Onadipe explains how to prevent internet fraud, cyber terrorism, cyber bullying, pornography and cybersex addiction, online gaming addiction, screen addiction, among others.

In his opening remarks in this edition, Onadipe said internet abuse is a real problem in today’s society, adding that through his research and counseling experience, he discovered that “when internet abuse is not properly controlled or prevented, it leads to other social vices e.g indecent dressing, prostitution, pre-marital sexual activities, rape, pedophilia, cultism, money rituals, drug addiction, among others.”

“In today’s technology age, the menace of internet abuse had done incalculable damage to many lives and the society at large. Many homes have broken, many lives traumatized, businesses crashed, ministries folded up, many individuals and companies have lost their reputations, while a large number of youths have been jailed for various internet-related crimes.”

There are over 50 articles in the magazine written by Rotimi Onadipe, published by over 300 news media organizations around the world and read by thousands of people. Among the articles written by Onadipe to educate the public on how to avoid online dangers include, 10 tips to avoid social media addiction as a child of God, Cybercrime: the greatest challenge of the Nigerian youths in today’s digital age, How to overcome pornography addiction in today’s technology age, The dangerous effect of online gaming and social media addiction on the academic performance of Nigerian youths, 20 tips to avoid social media addiction as a teenager, How to protect your children online, Hushpuppi saga: A wake-up call for public awareness about Business Email Compromise (BEC) scams, How to prevent the spread of fake news and misinformation in today’s Internet age, among others.

To indicate the positive effect of previous magazines and the training of the publisher, Professor Anna Droll, President, Kairos Global Missions in the US, writes how she interviewed Mr. Onadipe for her research project for a PhD at the Fuller Theological Seminary, USA.

She says, “Onadipe’s report of the roles of dreams and visions in directing his steps toward his current work was quiet amazing. She added that, of the 77 interviews and 137 written surveys gathered, Onadipe’s interview is one of the most remarkable.”

Also, Dr Felix Ajiola of the Department of History and Strategic Studies of the University of Lagos says, “Cybercrime is one of the nefarious and illicit phenomena gaining momentum among youths globally. The obnoxious act has greatly affected the image of Nigeria in the global community, but Pastor Rotimi Onadipe is at the forefront of social reengineering. As a patriotic stakeholder for an ideal society predicated on honesty, godliness, hardwork and responsibility, he has contributed tremendously in the fight against internet abuse, illicit activities and fraudulent practices rampant among some unscrupulous youths in Nigeria.”

Also, the member representing Ogbomoso North and Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs and Community Development in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Bimbo Olawumi Oladeji, admits that “In today’s digital age, people spend countless hours throughout the day on social media, and at the end of the day have absolutely nothing productive to show for it. Pastor Onadipe and his team have, however, come up with strategies to prevent this online abuse which include research, counseling, educating the public on the dangers and lasting solutions to internet abuse and cyber crimes, rehabilitation and empowerment of repentant cybercriminals through vocational training.”

Professor Emmanuel O. Inyama from Imo State University, Owerri says “Onadipe has proved to be a pacesetter and a patriotic citizen. Some of the causes include peer group influence, corruption, social media influence, most religious leaders preaching prosperity instead of salvation and morality. If every religious leader should preach salvation and morality, our youths will begin to learn the consequences of such vices.”

While efforts are being put to punish perpetrators, we believe that education/orientation of persons on how these untoward crimes are achieved and or can be avoided/curtailed becomes germane which is more like a stitch in time that saves nine. This is exactly what Rotimi Onadipe and his team are doing.”

Internet safety magazine is a magazine that will change the lives of our youths in today’s digital age.”
