Sokoto, Zazzau princes, Sultan Media Team, Ogun, Lagos groups write Defender publisher over father’s death

More than 72 hours after the beloved father of Prince Bashir Adefaka, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Defender Media Limited publishers of The DEFENDER Newspaper, Alhaji Kasumu Yesufu Adefaka, passed on, condolence messages have continued to pour into the Adefaka’s family with the latest coming from Sokoto Caliphate and Zazzau Emirate princes, top figures and Sultan of Sokoto’s Palace Media Team members.

Alhaji Adefaka, a prince of Akure Kingdom (maternal) by the Ojijigogu Ruling House and Isolo Kingdom (paternal) by the Abibiri Ruling House in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, died around 1:30am on Saturday January 4, 2025 and was buried same day in accordance with Islamic rites, following a Janazah prayer at the Akure Central Mosque, led by the Grand Chief of Akure Kingdom, Ash-Sheikh AbdulHakeem Yayi Akorede,

Among the top Sokoto Caliphate and Zazzau Emirate members who sent in their condolences to the The DEFENDER Newspaper publisher and the entire Adefaka Family over the loss are sons of 17th and 19th Sultan who are brother and nephew, respectively, to the sitting Sultan of Sokoto, Sarkin Kudu Sokoto Alhaji Mu’azu Abubakar III, and Danburam Sokoto and Secretary to the Sultanate Council Alhaji Saidu Maccido, Yariman Zazzau and former Director General of NIMASA, Alhaji Muhammad Muniru Jaafar, Sarkin Fada Sokoto Alhaji Kabiru Tafida, District Head of Kilgori and Senior Councillor Sultanate Council Sokoto, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammad Kilgori.

Other notable of such written or telephone messages from across the Niger include Secretary General of the Ogun State Muslim Council, Alhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde Esq, Senior Assistant Registrar (Public Relations), Crescent University Abeokuta, Sarkin Fulani of Lagos, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II, Yariman Zazzau Muniru Jaafar, Chairman Oshodi, Mafoluku, Shogunle, Ewutuntun Community in Lagos State, Engr. Babatunde Faleye, members of the media profiection and alumni, among others.

Sultan Media Team

In a message sent on behalf of the Sultan of Sokoto’s Palace Media Team by Gazali Tukur Bakare, prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the father of one of the in Al-Jannah Firdaus.

“Innalillahi wa’inna ilaihi rajiun! On behalf of myself and follow members of the SULTAN PALACE MEDIA TEAM SOKOTO, I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to @⁨Prince Bashir Adefaka⁩ over the death of his father. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and reward him with Jannatul Firdaus, Amin summa Amin,” Balarabe wrote.

Mu’azu Abubakar III

Mu’azu Abubakar III wrote, “Inna lillahi wa Inna ilaihi rajiun. May Allah (SWT) forgive him and grant him jannatul firdausi.”

District Head of Kilgori

District Head of Kilgori, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammad Kilgori, said, “Please accept my condolence. May Allah forgive and grant him Al-Jannah Amiin.”

Kabiru Tafida

Sarkin Fada Kabiru Tafida, in his reaction, prayed, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun, inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun, inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun, may Allah subhanahu wa taalah forgive all his mistakes and grant him Aljannah firdaus without hisaab.”

Sarkin Fulani of Lagos

The Sarkin Fulani of Lagos, His Highness Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II, said, “My heartfelt condolences to the family of Alhaji Kasumu Yesufu Adefaka. May Allah grant him eternal rest and give your family strength and patience during this difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.”

Alhaji Bambado II is also the Chairman Council of Fulani Chiefs South West Nigeria.

Kamaldeen Akintunde

In a message from the Chief scribe of Ogun Muslim Council, Alhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde Esq, Prince Bashir Adefaka, chosen as point of contact in sympathising with the Adefaka Family, was addressed.

“We commiserate with you and the family. We pray that Allah grants him peaceful repose and to give family the strength to withstand the irreversible departure.

“Special tribute for his effective parenting role, resulting in your service to humanity, nay, the nation as member of fourth estate of the realm,” Alhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde, OMC Secretary General, wrote.

Babatunde Faleye

OMSE Chairman Engr Babatunde Faleye wroted, “Please accept mine and by extension OMSE’s heartfelt condolences on the demise of your dad.

“May the almighty grant the family and you the fortitude to bear the irredeemable loss.

“We stand with you at this painful period and will continue to pray with you always. God bless you sir.”

Idris Katib

In the message of Crescent University Abeokuta’s Senior Assistant Registrar (Public Relations), Mr. Idris Katib, he said, “From the bottom of my hearts, I commiserate with you and the entire Adefaka Dynasty on the passage of your loving father, Alhaji Kasumu Yesufu Adefaka.

“May Allah in His infinite mercy grant him Aljannah Firdaus and also be with your family in this grieving period and beyond.”
