The current administration of the Federation and the federating units in the country clocked three on May 29 of this year 2018 having commenced on May 29, 2015. Sokoto State Government of Dr. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, as one of the federating units comes to assessment and has been discovered to have performed excellently well in the three years in office, to the amazement of even opponents who are hell bent to disrupt its people oriented programmes and projects.
In Sokoto State the Aminu Waziri Tambuwal led administration is trying its best in the face of dwindling economy and has provided dividend of democracy to the people in both urban and rural areas.

The administration has performed creditably in the areas of Health, Education, Water and Roads Projects as well as social, youth and development to mention but a few. One of the greatest achievements which is also rare feat is the sustenance of payment of salary to civil servants and settling gratuity and pension for retired civil servants of both local government and state. To encourage vibrant civil service, the administration invest massively in training and retraining of its work force at all levels the recent was the move to make all workers computer literate in line with modern approach to technologically based like. Education with its lion share of the state’s budgets is given desired attention and support with state emergency declaration on the sector.
Billions of Naira had been spent in the provision of additional infrastructure; building of new schools, procurement of teaching and learning materials as well as recruitment of additional teachers. Teachers were regularly sent on training while many of them secured scholarship to further their studies at various tertiary institutions within and outside the country.
The new approach to education witnessed massive enrolment and retention of students and pupils across the state. The Health Sector is another area where the Mutawalle led administration has achieved more than expected for a three year-old government.

Hospitals in rural areas were upgraded to General Hospital status, the existing ones across the metropolis were given a facelift and provided with modern equipments, new “ambulances procured and distributed to the wards across local government areas, sufficient drugs and other necessary equipment were supplied for the hospitals. A new approach to quality Health delivery was put in place with joint partnership between Health personnel and local Birth Attendants (TBAS).
A model local circumcision centre was established for children to go and make good use of it against belief by some parents that modern method of circumcision is not in conformity with their culture. With a well informed Health Commissioner at the helm of affairs, the sector is fast gaining ground as more pregnant women now go for the ANC and sick children are referred to hospitals for maximum care. The free pregnant women and children under five years medication has helped a lot in curbing the high rate of maternal and mortality rate across Sokoto State.
Agriculture is another area that deserved mention here due to success recorded in the sector with mass participation by youths and civil servants as a result of programmes initiated by the present administration. The Anchor-Borrower and provision of adequate fertilizer and other implement has reawaken people interest in growing food for self-sustenance and improved economy.

The administration through its numerous policies and programmes has attracted investors to the state who encourages mass participation and good harvest by giving support and encouragement necessary.
Dry season farmers are also happy with the current programme, which enables them to produce enough for consumption and economic advancement.
The SADP and other Agro related organizations are doing their best with regular visits to farmers aimed at sensitizing and enlightening them on modern method for improved and quality result.
Farmers get fertilizer in good time and at subsidized rate, pesticide and seeding are available to them free of charge. The take-off of the College of Agriculture Wurno is another stride to encourage agricultural activity in the state especially to conform with method of farming.
The administration has revolutionizes the Agricultural sector with mass production of Rice, Beans and other staple foods.
On education, the administration has performed remarkably considering the decay they met in the sector. Declaration of state of emergency becomes necessary considering what the people were saying in respect of position of Sokoto State especially on Girl Child Education.

The administration went in to full action which saw the improved enrollment and retention record as well as provision of teaching and learning materials.
More teachers were recruited trained and sponsored to go and upgrade their academic standard. The Teachers Service Board were ordered to shop for additional teachers especially on science oriented subjects.
Even the state ministries in charge of education were restructured giving room for improved service delivery.
The administration also procured new school buses and distributed them to secondary schools across the state while NECO and WAEC forms were also purchased and distributed to eligible candidates across 23 local government areas of the state.

These were some of the achievements recorded during the three years of Dr. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal,the Mutawallen Sokoto, Administration. They are too numerous to mention here but education, agriculture and health sectors are worthy of mention for the huge success recorded around them which no person can claim ignorance about them.
Such is a rare feat considering the economic challenges met at the inception of the administration.
Other sectors were equally given desired support and concern since there is no sector which is not contributing to the overall development of Sokoto State and Nigeria generally.
