Sokoto Governor appoints eight District Heads

The appointments, according to a statement signed by the Secretary of the Sultanate Council, Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’idu Muhammad Maccido Danburan Sokoto, were made based on recommendations by the Sultanate Council.

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, has approved the appointment of eight new District Heads to fill vacant traditional positions across the state.

The appointments, according to a statement signed by the Secretary of the Sultanate Council, Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’idu Muhammad Maccido Danburan Sokoto, were made based on recommendations by the Sultanate Council.

The appointees and their respective positions are: Salihu Sarkin Noma Kadadi — Sarkin Arewan Kadadi, Isah Daudu Gidan Madi — Ausan Gidan Madi, Gidado Muhammad Dabagi — Sarkin Gabas Dabagin Ardo, Hayatu Jibbo Dallatu — Sarkin Gabas Tudun Wada, Abdullahi Muhammed Danchadi — Sarkin Zamfaran Danchadi, Hon. Umar Shehu Goronyo — Sarkin Gabas Goronyo, Alhaji Kabiru Marafa — Ajiyan Tsaki, and Muhammadu Buhari Mai Lato Gumbi — Ardon Wajake.

The statement said the formal turbaning ceremony for the newly appointed traditional rulers would be performed by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, at a later date.

In the meantime, the Sultan and his Sultanate Council have congratulated the appointees on their appointments and wished them success in their new responsibilities, as well as God’s guidance in the discharge of their duties.
