Shutdown of European embassies in Moscow not on the table — Foreign Ministry
At the same time, Russia to respond every time as the principle of reciprocity in international relations has not changed
Shutting down European embassies in Moscow is not on the table, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Wednesday.
“We view diplomacy as an immutable instrument of international communication, whose importance is only growing in the current circumstances. I repeat once again: we will respond every time; the principle of reciprocity in international relations has not changed.
“We will decide on specific decision, we are already deciding on them, based on our own interests, with consideration of actual circumstances and ‘contribution’ of certain states in fanning of the anti-Russian hysteria,” the spokeswoman said during a briefing Wednesday, commenting on the expulsions of Russian diplomats.
“In the meantime, shutdown of European embassies in Moscow is not on the table,” she added.
