The Acting National Chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Supo Shonibare, has urged Muslims to display exemplary sense of self-discipline during the Ramadan season.

In a statement on behalf of the National Executive Committee of the Party, he wished all Muslems a favoured and blessed Ramadan season.

According to the Chairman, “The period of fasting calls for self- discipline in knowing ourselves to master our inordinate urges and to exercise self- control, as well as to practice charity and sharing to better free ourselves to be favoured by the Allmighty.

“To fast is to identify our dependencies and free ourselves from them.

In these troubling and uncertain times; with a raging virulent plague, may Allah forgive us all our sinful ways and be merciful and may this plague of Coronavirus pass us all over; particularly during this Ramadan period, without claiming any of us or our loved ones victims”.

Chief Shonibare further enjoins all Nigerians to continue to keep safe by adhering to the lockdown directives in States where there is directive and to practice other imperatives like social distancing and hand washing; as well as only venturing out when it is unavoidable.
