The Zamfara North APC senatorial aspirant, Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has called on Governor Dauda Lawal and relevant stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to steer clear of the fresh senatorial primary election ordered by the Court of Appeal, Sokoto Division.
Shinkafi made the call while speaking with journalists at his residence on preparations for the rescheduled primary election, scheduled to hold on Monday, November 2, 2026.
He urged the APC National Headquarters to ensure a free, fair, transparent and credible election that would provide a level playing field for all contestants without bias or favouritism.
Dr Shinkafi said he would not condone any attempt to impose a candidate on the party, stressing that the primary election must be conducted in a manner that guarantees equal opportunities for all aspirants.
He further warned that he would not hesitate to return to court if any irregularities were recorded during the exercise.
The senatorial aspirant also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and other stakeholders involved in the election to maintain strict neutrality, warning that any attempt to sabotage the process would be resisted through lawful means.
He urged his supporters across the 42 wards in the senatorial district to turn out en masse and vote for him during the exercise.
The earlier APC senatorial primary election in Zamfara North was nullified by the court, which ordered the conduct of a fresh exercise scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026.
