Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke has emerged the 2019 Gubernatorial flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State.
Senator Lado Danmarke defeated six other contestants with 3,385 votes in a keenly contested Primary election held at the party’s headquarters in Katsina Metropolis.
The election which started in the early hours ofc .Sunday ended around 4:30 AM Monday under a conducive atmosphere.
Others who participated in the election include :- Former Deputy Governor of the State, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Faskari scored Zero votes, Alhaji Musa Nashuni one vote, Alhaji Ahmed Aminu Yar’adua 243 votes, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Tata Zero votes, Alhaji Sada Ilu zero votes, and former Speaker of Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Kabir Kofa stepped down 25 minutes to the election started.
Chairman Electoral Committee of the election, Senator Bala Adamu Kariya who announced the results of the election said 28 votes were found valid. Senator Adamu Kariya expressed appreciation on the manner of free and fair as well as peaceful conduct of the exercise. Senator Bala Adamu Kariya thanked the former Governor of the State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema for spending all the hours at the venue to monitor conduct of the Election and urged the losers to cooperate with the Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke to win 2019 election in the state.
Earlier, PDP Chairman of the state, Alhaji Salisu Yusuf Majigiri assured that the party would win 2019 election in the state.
Alhaji Yusuf Majigiri appealed for support and understanding amongst the followers of the Party for success.
