Saudi authorities unhappy Nigerians shortchange fellow citizens over dates gifts

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has expressed dismay that dates it packaged and distributed as gifts for Nigerian citizens are being sold to the citizens by some people.

This was made known in a public announcement by Charge de Affairs of the Embassy of the country in Nigeria, Dr. Yahya Alli Mugram, copy which was made available to The DEFENDER.

The statement said, “It has come to the notice of Saudi Arabian Embassy that the Saudi Dates packaged and distributed as gifts from the Govt. of Saudi Arabia are being sold by some people.

“Members of the public are hereby notified that the dates are strictly gifts to the Nigerian citizens and under no circumstance should they be sold or bought by anybody.

“Necessary measures shall be taken against papetrators of this untoward act,” he said.
