Sarkin Fulani of Lagos salutes Alara on 5th coronation anniversary

Bambado II, who is also the Chairman Association of Fulani Chiefs in South West Nigeria, in the letter, described the Alara’s reign in the last five years as one that has been marked by wisdom, peace, and an unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of his people.

The Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Epe Division of Lagos State, His Royal Majesty Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Telade IV, will clock fifth year on the throne of his ancestors on Sunday August 17, 2025.

Joining his numerous well wishers in the celebration is the Sarkin Fulani of Lagos, His Royal Highness Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II, who saluted him in a tribute transmitted to him via a letter copy of which was obtained by The DEFENDER on Saturday August 16, 2025.

Bambado II, who is also the Chairman Association of Fulani Chiefs in South West Nigeria, in the letter, described the Alara’s reign in the last five years as one that has been marked by wisdom, peace, and an unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of his people.

He said, “It is with profound respect and admiration that I extend my heartfelt tribute to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the 55th Alara of Ilara Kingdom, on the occasion of his 5th Year Coronation Anniversary.

“Your reign over the past five years has been marked by wisdom, peace, and an unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of your people. You have not only preserved the heritage of your illustrious forebears but have also elevated the cultural pride and identity of Ilara Kingdom.

“As a fellow custodian of tradition, I deeply appreciate your exemplary leadership, humility, and dedication to fostering harmony among traditional rulers in Lagos State, the South-West, and Nigeria at large. Your role as the South-West Coordinator of the National Council for Traditional Rulers of Nigeria speaks volumes of your vision and your tireless service to the dignity of our traditional institutions.

“On this milestone celebration, I pray that Almighty Allah continues to grant you wisdom, long life, and strength to reign gloriously on the throne of your ancestors. May your legacy be one of peace, prosperity, and enduring honor to the Ilara Kingdom and the Yoruba people at large.

“Congratulations, Kabiyesi. May your reign continue to be a source of blessings to generations yet unborn,” he prayed.
