SALLAH: Ex-Gov Yari to distribute 16,800 bags of rice to Zamfara needy, vulnerable

Former Zamfara State Governor and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara), has procured 28 trucks of rice ready to people across the state, to make them happy during this year’s Eid-ul-Adha.

Chairman of Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari Political Organisation, Hon. Lawal M. Liman Gabɗon Ƙaura, who heads the distribution Committee, disclosed this in Gusau, Zamfara State capital, at a meeting with members of the Committee on Tuesday June 4, 2024.

He explained that the gesture, which would cover the needy across the state, was borne out of the Senator’s desire to assist people especially the most vulnerable to celebrate the festival with relative ease.

Under the arrangement that will be supervised by the Ulama Committee, which handled the Senator’s previous gestures, Hon. Liman said that each of the 14 Local Government Areas is allocated 2 trucks of 50kg bags of rice.

During the exercise, which is to be preceded by the selection of the beneficiaries devoid of political inclination, six persons will be given a 50kg of Rice to share among themselves.

The Chairman reiterated the commitment of Senator Abdulaziz Yari towards providing succour to the people of Zamfara State in particular and humanity in general at all times, and pleaded with the officials entrusted with the distribution exercise to live above board, to achieve the goal of the project initiator.
