Roundabout immortalising Donatus Umukoro commissioned in Delta

The official commissioning of a roundabout in memory of Chief Donatus Adua Umukoro Roundabout was performed in Ugelli, Delta State on Wednesday.

The commissioning ceremony, performed by the state government, was attended by wife of the late engineer, Chief Rose Ufuoma Umukoro.

In her speech at the occasion, Chief Rose Umukoro said in that her husband was born and bred in Ugelli as grandson of the Olotu family while his mother hails from Ofuoma both of Great Ughelli Kingdom.

Ufuoma Umukoro, a lawyer, said it had been her husband’s dream to bring more growth, development, and beauty to the Great Ughelli Kingdom community.

She said it was her hope that the Roundabout and statute would be seen forever as a symbol of the late engineer’s legacy.

She said a lot of effort had gone into making her husband’s dream a reality and seized the opportunity of the occasion to thank the Almighty God for his infinite mercies in making these and more projects possible.

The commissioning was performed by the Delta State Commissioner for Works, Engr Noel Omodon, in the presence of HRM Dr Wilson Ojakovo Oharisi III, HRM Dr Isaac Erube, Ovie of Igbuku Kingdom, among others.

Specifically, the Chairman of Ugelli North Local Government Area, Hon Godwin Adode, and his top officials were also in attendance.

Senior officials of Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and the police in the area were in attendance.
