Former Member of Provisional Ruling Council (PRC) and Minister of Communications, Retired Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju, has described the late Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), as a state leader who fulfilled his promises.

The Retired General of the Nigeria Army, who was once Acting Military Governor of Old Ondo State during the military administration of then Navy Captain Olabode George, stated this while reacting to death of the governor, which occurred in Germany in the early hours of Wednesday December 27, 2023.

The DEFENDER recalls that Olanrewaju was Brigade Commander, 35 Air Defence Artillery Brigade, Akure, between 1988-1990 before travelling to India for his National Defence College course.

According to him, in his condolence message to the government, family of the deceased, the Olowo of Owo Kingdom and the entire good people of Ondo State, Akeredolu was a politician with mind of his own.

“I share the grief with you on the death of the governor of Ondo state.

“He was a man of consummate standings and a man who did what he promised.

“He was a politician with a mind of his own.
