Retired AIG Idris Hadejia congratulates Tambuwal, Sokoto people on governor’s re-election
Retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, who was in charge of Police Works Department until his retirement, Engr. Mu’azu Idris Hadejia, has congratulated the Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, on his re-election success.
The former Police top brass, who is President of the Advisory Board of The DEFENDER Newspaper, made the congratulate on Sunday in a well addressed letter he emailed directly to the governor on behalf of the online newspaper after Tambuwal was declared winner of the rigorously contested governorship election in the state.
The letter stated: “On behalf of the media family of The DEFENDER Newspaper, I, AIG Mu’azu Idris Hadejia (Rtd), write to formally congratulate you on your victory after Sunday’s declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of you as winner of the Sokoto State governorship election that started on 9 March 2019 and ended 23 March 2019.
“I wish to assure you that your victory is a well deserved one due to your good character as it has always been cited in some of the interventionist editorials by The DEFENDER’s editorial team and so, I can comfortably announce to you that you won on merit.
“However, you need to know that your humility, fear of Allah and goodness to humanity played a major role in this renewed mandate to spend another four years as Chief Landlord in Sokoto State Government House.
“Therefore, be assured that at The DEFENDER, we shall continue to give our support and play the “Bridge-Building” role that we chose to play even at a time media intervention in Nigeria’s 2019 Politics became almost impossible.
“We also seize this letter to congratulate the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar and the entire people of the Seat of Caliphate that this election held without resultant violence. All of these feats are due to the distinctive nature of the Caliphate, which managed to guide its sons in contest in manner that ended in this logical and peaceful conclusion.
“We congratulate Your Excellency and wish you best of luck in years ahead! Wallahu Yar’amukum wabarakahu alaykum, Megrima,” AIG Mu’azu Idris Hadejia, representing other members of the board including Alhaji Kola Animasaun, Alhaji Aliyu Muhammed Hadejia and Prince Bashir Adefaka, said in the letter.
