The threat Tuesday by United States President Donald Trump to sanction Iraq, should it actualise its parliamentary vote for expulsion of its troops following the sad assassination of Iran’s top military officer, Major General Qossem Soleimani, has continued to be greeted by criticisms.
Social media influencers, who reacted, included Charles Kaye Okoye.
He asked to know who the real chief terrorist of the world is if not America, considering the gut by its President Trump to still go ahead and issue such threat after he ordered the extra-judicial killing of the Iranian General.
Charles, in a comment he posted on his Facebook wall Tuesday said: “In the news, US President, Donald Trump threaten Iraq with sanctions if the US troop is expelled from Iraq!
“I ask: Who is really the chief terrorist of the world?
“Is the US troop supposed to have a base in Iraq, especially under compulsion?
“Does Iraq or any other nation have a military base on the US soil?
“Why must the US unilaterally impose sanctions on Iraq for asking that American military leaves its soil?” He asked.
Also reacting was another respondent simply identified as Kabiru and he said: “He is not God, that is how they disorganised many countries, you’re not fighting terrorism, you’re simply fighting to steal their oil, the Lord will not allow you to achieve your deadly act, you’re already a terrorist yourself for wanting to collect what doesn’t belong to you by force. May the Lord protect the righteous wherever they are in the world. I am supporting what is going on because nobody will be happy if any powerful man collect his properties forcefully, that act is more than terrorism.”
In his own reaction, Balogun Lateef Ayinde said: “Could Trump be the Antichrist because of his attitudes that properly fit into what we are told about the Antichrist that will come at the later day of the world and will force every nation to submission under his rule?”
