The Russian president wished Lula da Silva success in his important work as head of state, as well as good health and prosperity

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a message to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, congratulating him on winning Brazil’s presidential election, the Kremlin press service said on Monday.

“Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on winning the presidential election. The vote’s results confirm your high political authority. I expect that our joint efforts will ensure further development of constructive Russia-Brazil cooperation in all areas,” Putin said in his message.

The Russian president wished Lula da Silva success in his important work as head of state, as well as good health and prosperity.

Brazil held its presidential election runoff on October 30. Leader of the Workers’ Party Lula da Silva received 50.9% of the vote with 99.99% of ballots counted, while his main rival, conservative Jair Bolsonaro, garnered 49.1%.
