President Tinubu appoints new NCC, NGCOMSAT, others CEOs

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of new and returning Chief Executives to fresh terms in office across multiple agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

They are Aminu Maida, who has been appointed the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC); Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) and Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

Others appointed are Dr. Vincent Olatunji, National Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), and Tola Odeyemi, who has just been appointed as the Postmaster General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).

Furthermore, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s determination to maximally leverage on Nigeria’s proven technological and digital economic prowess to reposition the nation’s economy toward greater financial inclusion, the President also approved the appointment of a new Special Adviser to the President.

According to a statement by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, dated October 11, 2023 and copy of which was sent to The DEFENDER Wednesday night, President Tinubu’s newly appointed Special Adviser on Technology and Digital Economy is Idris Alubankudi.

“By this directive of the President, the above-mentioned appointments take immediate effect,” the statement said.
