President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has congratulated the Chinese Leader, President Xi Jinping, on historic election to a third term as the leader of the Communist Party of China.

A Presidency’s statement signed by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, and copy of which was sent to The DEFENDER on Monday, conveyed that the President Buhari sent a congratulatory message to the Chinese counterpart.

Nigeria’s multi-lingual newspaper, The DEFENDER, reports that China is in a development partnership that works with Nigeria as seen in Africa’s most populous country’s infrastructural revolution and revival of the railways system that has been core to the Buhari’s Administration since the last seven years.

“I hope that your re-election would pave the way for deeper and enduring partnership and strategic cooperation that will be mutually beneficial to our two countries.

“I believe that the development of infrastructure, such as railways, dams and roads construction, power generating plants, as well as trade exchanges will receive strong boost,” says President Buhari in a message to the Chinese President.
