President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim as the new Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

A holder of BSc (Sociology), Masters of Arts (Management) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degrees, Mrs Sulaiman-Ibrahim, hails from Nasarawa State.

Until her new appointment, she was a member of the Nasarawa State Economic Advisory Council as well as Special Adviser on Strategic Communication to the Minister of State for Education.

Imaan, a Northerner by Federal Character consideration, replaces the South’s Julie Okah-Donli, who just completed her own term as head of the agency during which she did excellently well as gathered.

One after another, President Buhari continues to ignore critics who accuse him of nepotism as he appoints, reappoints and replaces his government heads of agencies in line with the rule of law, The DEFENDER reports.

One of next in the pipeline will be the all-important appointment of a replacement for the Comproller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Alli (Rtd), whose tenure expires this year.

We gathered that Alli’s successor will not just be a Southerner but a Yoruba man from the South West of the country.
