POLICE GAMES 2026: LOC holds strategic conference, inspects facilities in Asaba

As part of preparations for the 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA 2026), themed “Beyond the Badge: Excellence in Action,” the Local Organising Committee (LOC) has held a two-day strategic conference and inspection of sporting facilities in Asaba, Delta State.

According to the Delta State Police Command spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, the conference took place from Friday, January 16 to Saturday, January 17, 2026, alongside an inspection of venues earmarked for the games scheduled to hold from February 7 to February 14, 2026.

The conference and inspection exercise were led by the Chairman of the Force Sports Planning Committee, Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Fom Pam Joseph. The engagement was aimed at fine-tuning operational plans, logistics, and inter-agency coordination ahead of the national sporting event.

Senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force attended the conference, including AIG Suleiman Abdul; Commissioners of Police Dantawaye Miller, Hassan Gwani, and Osifo Emefiele; as well as the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola. Other members of the Local Organising Committee were also present.

Key issues discussed during the conference included venue readiness, security arrangements, accommodation, transportation, medical services, and general logistics, with emphasis on ensuring a seamless and professionally coordinated games.

Following the conference, the committee embarked on an inspection tour of designated sporting facilities, assessing infrastructure, safety standards, logistics, and overall suitability for athletes and officials expected from police commands and formations across the country.

The Local Organising Committee reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a safe, orderly, and successful sporting festival, assuring participants and members of the public that preparations for BIPOGA 2026 are progressing steadily.
