Police arrest 6 criminals in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command, in its determination to rid the state of criminal elements and their collaborators, has arrested six suspects for various criminal offences.
This was disclosed by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abutu Yaro, while briefing journalists on the activities of the command in his office.
He said some of the criminals arrested included Lawal Ibrahim, a notorious bandit in Biyabiki village of Tsafe Local Government with Ak-47, Yusuf Murtala, an armed robber arrested with motorcycle and iron rod.
He further said three people were arrested for supply of hard drugs to bandits, which included Aminu Mohammed, Nnanna Uchenna and Buzu.
He said they engaged themselves in the supply of hard drugs and injections to the bandits in the bush.
He further said a gun runner with the sum of one million seventy thousand Naira meant for purchase of Ak-47, which includes Ibrahim Adamu, Tsoho Dandela and Dogo which, had concluded plans to purchase Ak-47 riffles from one Dogo also a notorious bandit.
He also said one Abubakar Mohammed of GRA Gusau was arrested for possession of large quantity of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and other hard drugs which are being used by the bandits and other criminals elements
CP Abutu said all the suspects are in police custody undergoing further interrogation and investigation before being charged to court for prosecution
