In an apparent sign of yet to recover from the 2015 defeat by the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State, Yayanuwa Zainabari, has said the party is working round the clock to ‘Change the Changers’ who took over power from the party, about three years after.

He disclosed this while speaking at the commissioning of Local Government offices of the party in Ningi, Warji and Ganjuwa local government areas of the state.

He said the PDP has a chance to win elections in 2019 because the APC-led government has failed to fulfill its campaign promises.

He however said that imposition of unpopular candidates by PDP governors was one of the reasons the party lost the 2015 general elections.

Zainabari said: “We went round states where PDP has state governors in the northeast. Here, we went to Gombe and Taraba states and told them we don’t want to repeat the same mistake again.

“From ward up to presidential elections, we will elect the people’s choice; we will respect the wishes of the people; if delegate is elected by the people he too will elect the candidate that the majority of people want.”

He added that the party will reopen all its offices in the 20 local government areas of Bauchi state.

“We have to convince Nigerians. You as a marketer, you have taken a product that was in the market before to the people and they waived you away, saying we don’t want it because it’s not effective,” he said.

He noted that PDP will return to power and deliver real dividends of democracy as well as restore hope and confidence of the masses.

”At least people saw what we did then while now, they are still facing hardships in the hands of APC; no one will like to go back to more hardship because people will go to where there is a relief,” he added.

He commended PDP supporters for their faith and welcomed new members who are decamping to the party in Bauchi State.
